Today on our blog, we want to share our illustration, by Josef, of the famous Paisley Abbey set in snow. Over a month ago, the Josef McFadden brand made the move across Scotland from the Scottish Borders to Paisley in Renfrewshire, a town in which was the starting point for many of the original paisley shawl patterns and prints.
The town of Paisley is located just over 10 minutes from Glasgow city, but it has such an individual identity, a rich heritage steeped in history which make it a town that its residents are certainly very proud of – and its very clear why.
Paisley has been building momentum over the last few years in preparation for submitting a bid to become a UK City of Culture for the year 2021. In recent months, the bid is proving very strong with a lot of activity taking place in and around the town from festivals, concerts and other creative events to show just why the town deserves such a great status. Josef McFadden located here last month and have been using many of the creative opportunities that the bid has brought as well as the fantastic Incube Renfrewshire Creative Business Base that is on offer for small companies.
We have been particularly inspired the the Paisley Abbey and its wonderful architectural qualities, its very inspiring – so much that Josef decided to put brush to paper and depict the famous abbey in all of its glory to celebrate Paisley and set it in snow, just in time for the Festive season here!
Back the bid and support Paisley for City of Culture 2021 – we have, will you?
