In a previous blog post in November, we shared with our readers our love of PAISLEY by painting the famous Paisley Abbey in the snow.
At that time, the bid to become City of Culture was underway with the people of Paisley pulling out all the stops in attempt to win the title. However, close to Christmas it was announced that the City of Culture status was awarded to Coventry.
Despite it not being the result Paisley wanted, it has certainly not dampened the mighty spirit of all those who worked tirelessly and engaged everyone to back the Paisley bid. The town is still energised from the campaign and will continue to build on the success achieved by the bid. As many know, the Josef McFadden brand located to Paisley last year in October and within the 7 months that we have been here, we couldn’t imagine locating to a better place. Paisley is full of creativity, entrepreneurship and steeped in a rich history of textiles that we love to research and tap into. Its full of inspiration in terms of the architecture right down to the people who make Paisley a fantastic place, and as a new business we have been made to feel very welcome.
To celebrate our love for Paisley, we created a bow tie inspired by the Paisley 2021 campaign and its colours. We have utilised the bold colours of the campaign to create a painterly mark making print and have translated it onto fabric. As we come into Spring/Summer we couldn’t think of a better palette to draw from. Introducing the Cochran Paisley Bow Tie:
