Discover this enjoyable craft at my introduction to lino printing workshop.

Using the tools of the trade, you will cut and carve your own design into a lino block to create an image to print. No experience is needed as I will take you through the process and show you examples of the technique so you can create your own unique edition print. Lino printing is an enjoyable and rewarding process that can create exciting results and leaves you with a lino design that you can keep using once you leave the session too. 

No previous experience is necessary to join this session. All tools provided as well as light refreshments.

What happens at the workshop?

  1. Introduction & Demonstration – A brief introduction and demonstration to lino cutting and printing. You will be guided through all aspects of the process.
  2. Your image – Bring along an image, your own drawing or use some reference pictures in the studio for a design you want to transfer to a lino block.
  3. Cutting your image – Its time to cut and carve your block. You will use tools to dig out areas of the lino block to create your image for printing.
  4. Printing – Once you have your block, its time to cover it in ink and print it onto card.  You will leave with your finished lino block so you can reuse it in the future as well as a few finished prints you created. You will be printing your image in black ink.
Lino blocks will be around A5 size each, pre cut to size, and you will use black printing ink to create your unique prints. Card is also provided for you to print your design onto.
Duration: 2 Hours Approx
Location: Studio 104, Old Embroidery Mill, Paisley, PA11TJ
What to bring: An image, idea or drawing you want to transfer to a lino print. You can also draw your image on the day or get help from Josef to create a suitable design!
Other details including directions to the studio and parking etc will arrive via email nearing the time of the workshop when you book your place.
